My teaching Philosophy

I am convinced that learning can and should be a collective experience. In my opinion it is essential to create an environment where students are able to work in teams, review their perceptions and give feedback to each other. That would build opportunities for students to develop their interpersonal and linguistic skills in addition to their logical and intrapersonal skills. I would also strive to foster a positive learning environment where students felt they could collaborate and take risks.

I feel that assessments can vary in style and in content to give students a variety and maintain interest. Resulting from my engineering background, I highly value hands-on training as much as theoretical problem solving. In my opinion, applications of theory to real world simulations make up an important part of the learning process and should be explored. Furthermore I believe that people possess multiple intelligences and that these can be exploited by educators. I like to stimulate different regions of the students’ thought process and help them see topics from their own perspectives and to use their interpretations.
