I received my B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2003. I earned my M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Ph.D. degree in Mechanics and Materials from Mines ParisTech in 2005 and 2010, respectively. During my graduate studies, I worked as a research assistant at MIT and Paris Tech. Before joining TED University, I was a postdoctoral associate at MIT.

My research interests lie in the area of solid mechanics, multi-scale modeling in mechanics of materials and also mechanics through movement. I published scientific papers in international refereed journals such as Journal of Applied Mechanics and Nano Letters.
